Rating Scales
Monitoring and tracking patient progress is integral to the CNS emphasis on helping people achieve independence and return to a meaningful life. From the inception of treatment, a patient's core living skills are observed by trained staff who record progress or setbacks daily. The various rating scales used are clinical tools that help the treatment team tailor therapies for optimal outcomes. Each scale reflects a level of capability that guides decisions about what patients need to make progress. This data is then analyzed and used to determine what services patients may need post rehabilitation. The data also informs families, insurers, physicians, and others of the possible need for a specialist's input, or adaptive devices to aid the return to work or home. Patient tracking using these tools maximizes treatment effectiveness while providing a guide for the patient's long term well being.
