English: View of Earth taken during ISS Expedition 67. The Monte Rosa mountain massif in Swiss Valais region (close to the town Zermatt and the Matterhorn) with several glaciers, partly covered by clouds. Mountain Dufourspitze and nearby summits from above. This image is a section from the original image, which was reduced down to a section covering the Monte Rosa massif (at lower rim) up to the end section of the Grenzgletscher engl. border glacir) and the Gorner glacier (at upper rim). The Dufourspitze, with 4.634 m the highest mountain of Switzerland and after the Mont Blanc the second highest in western Europe is close to the lower right corner of the image and marked with a yellow rectangle. |
